Thad Matta Ohio State Buckeyes Offense – 1-4 High Fake UCLA
1 passes to 3 then makes a fake UCLA cut off of 5. Once he passes 5, he turns and sets a rear screen for 5. 5 cuts to the basket looking for the pass from 3. If 5 isn’t open, 1 steps out and gets the pass from 3. 4 sets a ball-screen for 1 as 2 screens across for 5. If 5 isn’t open, 1 looks to pass to 2 cutting off of a down screen from 4.
Thad Matta Ohio State Buckeyes Offense – Horns Stack
Instead of 4 and 5 lined up on the elbows, 4 and 5 stack up to set a double ball-screen for 1. Once 1 clears the screen, 4 turns to set a screen for 5 who cuts into the lane. If 5 isn’t open, 4 screens down for 5. 1 passes to 5 for a shot. If 5 doesn’t have anything, he passes to 3 on the wing who looks inside to 4 diving to the basket.
