Ben Jacobson Northern Iowa Passing Game by Dana Beszczynski
Ben Jacobson is well known for his skills as a Defensive Tactician, but those in the college game know that Jacobson runs great offensive sets as well.
This is the UNI Passing Game they ran in the Tires Pro Invitational Semi-Final match-up which went into overtime against Oklahoma.
Good cuts, screens, timing, and tremendous patience & reads make UNI so effective and efficient in the 1/2 court game.
Their defense is very stingy and when they play at their pace, UNI is very hard to beat!

UNI High Stack
Northern Iowa has been running some great sets in the game against Wyoming. In this play, UNI gets to an overload out of a high stack set. If nothing is there, the ball is reversed and 4 sets a back-screen for 3 on the wing. 5 screens the screener (4), and 2 has two options to pass to for a shot.
- 1 dribbles to the left.5 screens for 4 who cuts to the ball-side block.
If 4 isn’t open, 1 passes to 3.

If nothing is open, 3 passes to 5 who passes to 2.
- 4 sets a back-screen for 3 on the wing.5 sets a down-screen for 4.
2 looks to pass to 3 at the basket or to 4 for a shot.

NCAA Tournament Sets – Northern Iowa Panther Single Double
Here is a set used to get a shooter running off of either a single or double screen. Coach Jacobson does a great job getting his players to cut hard and set good screens.
