Tulsa Golden Hurricane Offense
Attached are two set plays from Tulsa Golden Hurricane Head Coach Frank Haith. Before taking over for Tulsa, Haith was the head coach for Missouri and Miami. While at Missouri, he won 71% of his games and compiled a 71-28 record. At Miami, he won 129 games and led the Hurricanes to a NCAA Second Round Tournament appearance in 2008. Before becoming a head coach, Haith served as an assistant coach at several programs starting with Elon in 1985. He then moved on to Wake Forest, UNC Wilminton, Texas A&M, Penn State, and Texas.
Frank Haith Tulsa Golden Hurricane Set Plays – Box Double Ball-Screen
5 and 4 screen down for 2 and 3 on the block in a box set. 1 passes to 2 on the wing then makes a cut to the opposite corner off of a back-screen from 5. After screening for 1, 5 flashes to the high post and looks for the pass from 2. If 5 isn’t open, 5 and 4 move out to set a double ball-screen for 2. 2 drives middle looking to score, pass to 5 on the roll, or kick out to 1 in the corner.
Frank Haith Tulsa Golden Hurricane Set Plays – X Flash
1 dribbles right then back to the top of the key pushing 4 to the block and 3 to the corner. As 1 dribbles left, 5 flashes to the high post. Once 5 has the ball, he looks to pass inside to 4. If 4 isn’t open, 5 gives the ball to 3 on a dribble hand-off and 2 screens across the lane for 4. If 4 isn’t open, 5 screens down for 2 for a shot on the wing.
