Late Game Situations – Weber State Wildcats

Late Game Situations – Weber State Wildcats by Wes Kosel

Here are two set plays from Randy Rahe and his Weber State Wildcats used late in the game against Eastern Washington. With the win, Weber State moved to 23-8 on the season and held on to 1st place in the Big Sky Conference.

Cross Post Up

crosspost

1 dribbles to the left wing then passes to 5 at the high post. 3 runs off of a cross-screen from 4. After 3 clears the screen, 4 posts up his defender. 5 passes inside to 4. In the game, 4 turned and dunked the ball and got fouled.

High Pick and Pop

This play is a counter to the first play. If 1 passes to the high post the cross screen can be set. Instead, 5 sets a ball-screen for 1 then pops for a shot.
