Here are two quick plays from Utah Utes head coach Larry Krystkowiak. He has gone from winning 6 games in 2012 to 26 in 2015. Before coaching at Utah, Krystkowiak was the head coach at Montana from 2004-2006. During those two seasons, he compiled a 42-20 record and 2 consecutive Big Sky Tournament Championships. He left Montana in 2006 to be an assistant coach for the Milwaukee Bucks. He then took over as head coach for the Bucks in 2007. In 2010, he served as assistant for the New Jersey Nets before taking the head coaching job at Utah. Krystkowiak also played professionally for 12 years which consisted of several NBA teams, overseas in France, and for the Idaho Stampede of the CBA.

This play starts with all 5 players on the perimeter. 1 drives middle looking to score or he can kick it out to 2. Once 2 gets the ball, he looks to drive middle as 3 screens down for 4 and 5 steps in from the short corner. 2 can look to shoot, pass to 4 for a shot, pass to 3 on the pop, or pass to 5 stepping in towards the rim.

2 cuts to the opposite block and 3 dives to the rim. If neither option is open, 4 screens for 5 who cuts to the corner looking for a shot. If 5 doesn’t have a shot, 3 and 2 clears to the opposite side of the floor and 4 slips to the rim for a lay-up or dunk.
