Bill Fenlon DePauw Tigers Set Plays by Wes Kosel
Attached are four set plays from DePauw Tigers head coach Bill Fenlon. This year in the Division III NCAA Tournament we saw multiple upsets. Northwestern (MN) beat St. Thomas (MN), Elmhurst beat St. Norbert, Defiance beat Wisconsin-Whitewater, and DePauw beat Washington-St. Louis. All of these upsets included victories over teams ranked in the Top 15 of Division III. Only 62 out of 418 teams make the D3 NCAA Tournament, so the tournament field is strong and match-ups are tough in each pod of the bracket. DePauw upset Wash U 83-73 in the first round. Bill Fenlon led his Tigers to a 19-9 regular season record and a NCAC Conference Tournament Championship defeating Wooster in the championship game. Fenlon is in his 23rd season at DePauw and 30th season as a head coach. Before taking the job at DePauw in 1992-1993, Fenlon was the head coach at Southwestern (TX), Rose-Hulman, and Sewanee. He has a winning record at all four schools he has coached at, and won his 500th game in the NCAC Semi-Final win over Ohio Wesleyan.
